LDK23-001 BrandExplainer Figma UI v02

The Process

The initial designs were created in Figma and passed on to our team for animation. Facing a demanding deadline, we transferred the designs into our motion workflow in order to adopt the brand's colorful gradient look. Despite the 2D look, a lot of the scenes were created and animated in a 3D workflow. This allowed us to bring the dimensional design elements to life in 3D space across the entire video.

The Galactic Opener

The opening of the video needed an epic feel to immerse the viewer in a grand universe depicting possibilities, performance, and security within the platform.

Global Transitions

The 2D gradient shading seemed deceptively easy to execute. However, very quickly, it became apparent that After Effects was going to take us only halfway there. We ended up combining Cinema 4D, clever ingenuity, and some old motion tricks, to create a very efficient setup that allowed us to easily art direct the look and tweak the animation. Our setup was specifically developed with short render times in mind, leveraging the standard renderer in Cinema 4D. #throwback

Mograph 101

The classic animation test: a bouncing ball. Only this one needed to dynamically react and break apart pieces of code as it fell. We developed an intuitive squash/stretch rig and used layers of Particular for the falling debris.
